Reports, Executive Analytics & Business Intelligence

The Reports & Analytics module in MOANA serves as the central business intelligence (BI), operational analytics, and clinical governance command center for hospital executives, medical directors, nurse managers, and department heads. It provides real-time operational telemetry, longitudinal trend modeling, capacity forecasting, workforce utilization tracking, civil vital statistics, and financial revenue cycle analytics across seven specialized operational tabs.

1. Period Selector​

Quickly filter analytics across standardized reporting horizons or custom calendar windows:

  • Today: Real-time intraday operational tracking.
  • 7 days: Immediate rolling weekly performance.
  • 14 days: Standard two-week clinical trend analysis (default view).
  • 30 days: Monthly throughput and resource utilization review.
  • 90 days: Quarterly executive governance and clinical quality review.
  • YTD (Year-to-Date): Annual fiscal and operational review.
  • Custom: User-defined date range picker (From Date → To Date).

2. Live Telemetry & Prior Period Comparisons​

  • ● Live Badge: Indicates live streaming connectivity with zero synthetic/sample data.
  • Automatic Delta Calculation: Each metric computes percentage change against the immediately preceding period of equal length (e.g., +12% vs prior), automatically coloring improvements in green and deteriorations in red based on metric directionality.

3. Thresholds Configuration (Thresholds Button)​

Administrators can define organizational target baselines that drive color-coded alert states across charts:

  • Target Bed Occupancy Rate: Standard benchmark (e.g., 85%).
  • Target Emergency Department (ED) Wait Time: Maximum door-to-doctor target (e.g., 30 minutes).
  • Target Average Length of Stay (ALOS): Inpatient stay duration benchmark.

4. Cache Management & Instant Refresh (↻ Refresh)​

  • To optimize multi-user performance, data panels utilize an intelligent 30-second localized cache.
  • Clicking ↻ Refresh immediately purges the cache and triggers concurrent re-fetching across all active cards and charts.

5. Printable Executive Briefing Export (Export briefing)​

  • Generates a multi-page, high-density Executive Briefing PDF Report.
  • Automatically suppresses interactive UI buttons and applies print-specific page break rules for executive board presentations and Ministry submissions.

1. Emergency Department (ED) Hourly Wait Times (24-Hour Bar Chart)​

  • Evaluates door-to-doctor wait times broken down by hour of the day (00:00 to 23:00).
  • Compares hourly wait distributions against the target threshold line (e.g., 30 min), highlighting peak congestion hours (e.g., 18:00–21:00) to assist emergency staffing.

2. Admissions vs. Discharges Net Flow​

  • Dual-series line and bar comparison tracking daily hospital intake versus daily discharges.
  • Highlights days of net census accumulation (Admissions > Discharges) versus net capacity release.

3. Operating Theatre (OT) Block Utilisation​

  • Tracks scheduled surgical block utilization, emergency add-on case volumes, and average theatre turnover times (time between patient wheel-out and next patient wheel-in).

4. Outpatient Appointment Performance Breakdown​

  • Statistical classification of all outpatient bookings during the period:
    • Scheduled / Booked: Total prospective visits.
    • Confirmed: Verified attendances.
    • Checked-in & In-Progress: Live clinic queue load.
    • Completed Consultations: Successfully finalized encounters.

  • Ranked horizontal bar chart and frequency table of leading clinical diagnoses logged during the period.
  • Quantifies disease burden across outpatient clinics and inpatient wards.

2. Top Surgical & Clinical Procedures​

  • Identifies the most frequently performed therapeutic and surgical interventions, tracking volume trends across specialties.

3. Pharmacy Safety & Clinical Interventions Pack​

  • Dispense Volumes: Total outpatient prescriptions and inpatient unit-dose dispenses.
  • Pharmacist Clinical Interventions: Count of intercepted drug-drug interactions, dosing adjustments, and contraindication overrides.
  • Patient Counselling Rate (%): Percentage of high-risk medication dispenses with documented bedside counseling.

  • Live count of healthcare professionals currently clocked in and on active shift duty, grouped by department and clinical grade.

3. Weekly Roster Coverage Grid (Mon–Sun)​

  • Seven-day shift coverage matrix tracking scheduled duty shifts, planned rest days, and approved medical/annual leaves.
  • Alerts managers to potential shift understaffing before shift commencement.

4. Doctor Caseload Distribution​

  • Quantifies active inpatient assignments and outpatient consultation volumes per attending physician to ensure equitable clinical workload.

5. Safe Staffing Ratios & Nursing Shift Handover Adherence​
